Why We Sing

Using material from Keith and Kristyn Getty's new book, SING!, and viewing sessions from this summer's SING! Conference, we will explore the surprisingly powerful role of singing for Christians.

We'll be hearing from folks such as:  Alistair Begg, Joni Eareckson Tada, D.A. Carson, Paul Tripp, David Platt, and others as they speak on how worship transforms individuals, families and churches.

We will discuss the principals laid out by these leaders in broad terms, but we will also have opportunity to apply them to our lives and to our unique worship through singing at Pleasantview.

Objectives of this class:

  • To discover why we sing, and the joy and privilege that come with singing
  • To consider how singing impacts our hearts and minds and all of life
  • To learn how to cultivate a culture of singing in our daily home life
  • To consider how we can better equip our church for wholehearted singing to the Lord and to one another as an expression of unity
  • To inspire us to see congregational singing as a radical witness to the world
