Parenting to the Glory of God

Did you know there have been, on average, 10 new parenting books published every single day of the year for the past 20 years?  So, with all this overwhelming amount of parenting advice, where do we turn to discover parenting's best kept secrets? Where do we go to find out how, we as parents, can make a lasting impact in the spiritual lives of our children?  Who do we pray that our children will be come as adults?  Most of us, as parents, are focused on the wrong standards of success.  How does what I do in the moment of ... help to move them toward becoming thriving and committed adult Christians?  Do the little things really matter?

This study does not offer a simple game plan to follow or a list of 10 easy steps to parenting success.  Our job is not to succeed but to be obedient to God's calling and principles.  Through this study, we will endeavor to share and encourage one another as fellow parents as we model God in front of our children each day.  We will rely on Him rather than our own ideas and wisdom so that our young ones will experience the best that God has to offer.

"Listen, O Israel!  The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.  And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.  Repeat them again and again to your children.  Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.  Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.  Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."  Deuteronomy 6:4-9
