For the Life of the World

What is your salvation for? What is your place and purpose in this God-created world that surrounds you? Do you hide out inside the walls of the church? Or blend in, unnoticeable to the world around you? Or wage warfare against the culture of the world at every step? For the Life of the World will help us explore what it means to be in the world, but not of it.

In Jeremiah, God commands the exiled Israelites to "seek the peace and prosperity" (Jer. 29:7) of the community that He's placed themin - a hostile, antagonistic, pagan culture. Similarly, Jesus calls His followers to be salt and light in a world wrestling with decay and darkness.  This class will explore what it means to engage every area of the world around us and have a faithful, God-glorifying presence in our communities.

This class is comprised of videos and group discussion, and a healthy dose of hands-on, real-life application.  It will be suitable for everyone, from teens through elders.
